why hello there.

November 26, 2016

SO HERE WE ARE. I'M BACK (for those of you who followed my previous blog) and HELLO to those who have not met me.

It's a privilege to be writing again... and I write this nearing the end of October. I probably won't publish this until a few months from now... we'll see where God takes it. :)

So a reintroduction for the oldies and a new introduction for my new friends. :) Hi. I'm Maddie. I'm a high schooler who loves Jesus + loves to write, so this blog is a combination of that! A couple of years ago, right before my 13th birthday, I felt called to start a blog... because what hip middle schooler doesn't want a blog? :) But it actually kinda stayed a thing, and even though I didn't post as much as I wanted to, I kept it up. And boy, am I glad I did because it has changed me in so many ways, and hopefully changed others for the better as well.

There was a reason I took a break from blogging. There is a reason I created a whole new website, with a whole new name. Everything in my past blog was... mis-centered I guess you can say. I was young and naive (still am heh) and I didn't really realize the potential that God set in my life for my blog. Some times I would blog for me. I would make promises I couldn't keep. I would preach about one thing, and then do the complete opposite elsewhere. Now that I've taken a break and taken some time... I'm still just as broken but I've set my sights and words on Christ. And I'm going to make myself, and you guys, three promises.

1. Everything is going to be honest.

I value honesty in other people. You deserve honesty from me, and that is what I'm going to do. And being honest means I have to face some things. One- I need to be vulnerable. Obviously, this isn't a completely 100% personal blog where I vent about emotional things and tell you guys everything. But God uses brokenness often, and sometimes I need to share that so I can help. Two- you may not like somethings that I say, in the sense that you do not agree. And you know what, that's perfectly okay! God gave us free will- in turn that made us all different. But please do not write any hateful, disrespectful or shameful comments. I honor your opinion and I honor your differences, but hateful comments will not value our differences, but discriminate them. I hope you guys can respect that, because I respect you. :)

2. I want to make you feel safe here.

I follow a lot of these really inspirational, amazing Christian women on Instagram and something I've noticed that they all have in common is that they make me feel... safe. I don't know them, but I feel welcomed to be myself because they are open and real. I want to make you guys feel like that. Above all, my goal is to make you guys feel like your brokenness, struggles, sufferings... they are all welcome here. I'm in that same boat- we can get through it together. I hope to build my blog as a safe place where we can grow as women (and men ;) ) in Christ.

3. I'm not going to pretend to be perfect.

I talk a little about this on the about me  page but I want to go into this letting you guys know that I'm nowhere close to perfect. I'll probably make more promises here and there about posting and stuff and I'll probably let you down. I'll probably write a post preaching about something and then go home and forget about it. The reason I took some time off was to figure out my mission and figure out how not to do that- so hopefully that won't be the case. But please don't get mad at me for making mistakes. I'll misspell words, I'll forget commas, I might look up a wrong piece of information every once and awhile. But since I welcome your brokenness, it would also mean a lot if you could welcome mine. :)

I am SO beyond excited to get this new blog started with you guys! I write the end of this post towards the end of November. By now, I have spent hours designing and nit-picking every little detail of this website! I am pretty proud of it and I hope you guys like it. God-willing, something I say through this blog will touch your heart. If something does, please let me know! I love to hear from you guys! If you have any comments/suggestions/questions on my new blog/etc. please don't hesitate to let me know. Contact me through this page or email me at gloryboundcontact@gmail.com .

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

All through Christ,
