dear beautiful people who are hurting

June 18, 2017

dear beautiful people who are hurting,

here is your daily reminder that you are worth it, you are loved, and you are beautiful. those words may sound so fake and fickle and hollow that your heart may not accept it. but please believe me. or if you don't believe me, believe Him. after all, He created love and beauty and worth, and you are precious in His sight, and honored, and LOVED. (Isaiah 43:4)

you are not worthless because you were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). God moved mountains for you- well more importantly He created mountains for you. He gave nations in exchange for your life (Isaiah 43:4). why would someone do all of that for someone they do not love? that they would not sacrifice everything for?

the world may seem unbearably dark. you may have many friends and family who care for you, but you may feel so so alone. you may try over and over to reach for the light, but it may seem hopeless.

let me promise you, over and over and over again that it is not, nor will it ever be, hopeless.

you were put on this Earth for a reason. that reason may seem so far away, but it is there. i cannot tell you the countless stories that i have witnessed (and i am sure you have as well) where my friends and family go through the darkest periods of their life, and they come out with a new understanding and a stronger faith.

the darkness sucks. it takes everything out of you. but YOU ARE STILL HERE. right now. reading this. breathing. thinking.

your heart beats for you. your friends smile for you. your God died for you.

you are alive now. and you are stronger than whatever this is.

actually, let me rephrase that. GOD is stronger than whatever this is.

he loves weakness, because that is where He comes in. For his power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Not good, not okay, not average. but PERFECT.

i imagine our souls like a vase. a beautiful vase. and God's presence is a light in that vase. and whenever we sin, we crack. whenever our faults come to the light, we crack.

but you know what?

the more we crack, the more God's light shines through.

for you are the light of the world (Matthew 15:16).

even in the darkness. even in the brokenness, even in the hurt.

i pray for you. i hurt with you. and i reach out to you. please let me know if i can do anything. :)

keep shining, you lovely souls.

all through Christ,
